POST 10 - SOME REFLECTIONS...

This year has been the strangest of my life, I always knew that a pandemic could happen, it was just a matter of looking at the subway in the morning, and all the mobilization of people worldwide. The crowding of people and globalization provide the perfect environment for a great pandemic to occur, what I did not think was that it would happen so soon. I have been lucky that no one of my family or friends has passed away. Despite everything I am studying and doing classes. I was also able to sign with a record label to release an album with my band, the name of the label is Dark Descent and they are going to finance the production, so I am very happy and desperate at the same time, I just want to rehearse and start recording, there are quarantines everywhere so it has been very difficult for us, despite this the label has been comprehensive. I think it's the only good thing that has happened so far ... Not all classes at the university have worked very well and I never thought tha...

POST 9 - YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

Faust Lately I have read very few books, because I am focused on other things, and because I usually read on trips to university. Since we don't travel by bus now, I don't read much. In those extensive trips to the university I was reading a book by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe called Faust, at first I bought it because I wanted to learn German and that book had the original writing with the Spanish translation, then I understood that the German of 1800 is very different from the one spoken today hahaha, but it helped me to learn some words. Faust is a very entertaining and at the same time very philosophical novel, this is because goethe was a writer, poet, playwright and scientist, in an era when science was still considered a philosophy. Faust was a wise man, he was the God's preferred human. Faust manages to capture Mephistopheles, the devil. This wise man who had achieved a great knowledge in the sciences was desperate to have other knowledge about life itself, so Mephis...

POST 8 >> A SUBJECT YOU'VE ENJOYED STUDYING THIS SEMESTER

This semester has been very complicated because we are having online classes, so many subjects could not be carried out optimally, under these conditions the subject that has been most useful to me is music and management, of course there are other important fields in the career, such as analysis or counterpoint, or the same subject of main instrument, but particularly music and management has shown me a part of music that musicians do not think to much about, we spent many hours sitting with the instrument practicing and seeing our scores, but we do not spend the same time developing an artistic career, and thinking  how to make a space in the art world, personally everything I have done in this field has been intuitively and due to the need to generate money in a determined instance, without rationalizing much the importance of the image, the target audience, short-term goals, recording videos, generate spaces to show our art , knowing the medium in which we should move and the i...

POST 7 - YOUR BUCKET LIST

I have never made a bucket list in long terms. This last time I have made lists of things to do but in short periods of time, like ... things I must do today: prepare classes, study, send emails, do some work, cook, etc ... I have always had in mind things that I have wanted to do and that I am sure I will do (or at least try), for example, obtain a master's degree in musical performance in Europe, learn other languages, and travel more than I have already done. I would like to be able to do this with my girlfriend, we support each other and she loves foreing languages so traveling for her would be a pleasure and an oportunity to learn, I have also made friends who can receive me in some countries. Of these things that I have always had in mind to achieve, I have already achieved some, such as recording albums, touring Europe (playing music), but all in the field of popular music, so I would very much like to achieve development and my goals in the context of classical mu...

Post 5 - A photograph you like

Imagen
Hi everyone, This is one of my favorite photos, it is a photo that my girlfriend has taken to my cat with her cellphone, my cat's name is "gata" (yes, gata) , and the photo was taken a couple months ago.  I like it a lot because she was very small, she was only 4 months old and she has always been a very cute and playful cat so this spontaneous photo reflects her personality very well. also this photo makes me very nostalgic, because my cat is right now recovering from a complication she had into her bowels, she is taking drugs and painkillers, so  she does not have the same spirit and personality that she has before her surgery =( but she is recovering very well, she is receiving a lot of attention and love and  in a coulpe of weeks she should be the same playful, curious and purring cat.

Post 3 - MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

Imagen
This is my audio interface Line 6 Ux2 . this interface has a sound card that allows me to record audio in a very good quality, it has two microphone inputs and two inputs for electric guitar or bass lines.  This interface is a gift that my older brother made me several years ago, Because I always recorded myself with a cell phone and the sound of the cell microphone was not the most optimal... you just can´t  listen in detail  the errors or the musical ideas that you had when playing. In order to use it, I must connect it via USB to some computer and also use some program to record multiple tracks, such as Cubase or Adobe audition. Now, lastly, I use this tool a lot, because due to the coronavirus, I can not meet with my teacher, so I send him recordings and then he can make corrections and send them to me, it is for this reason that now the interface has become something very important and I like it even more than before, as well as I have also learned to use it b...

Post 2

When i was a child i never thought to much about what i wanted to be when i grew up, i remember that night sky caught my attention a lot, and at some point i wanted to be an astronomer to understand what was happening out there in space, but over time, music became something more everyday, at 12 i started playing electric guitar , and at age of 14 i formed my first band with friends, as well as i started playing classical guitar, taking my first classes, wich i later left because i though that to be a musician you didn´t need to study... wich was very naive and immature on my part. when i was 16 or 17 years old i wanted to study a career that was strong in the area of physics, basically because i am a nerd,  that´s why i decided to study mechanical engineering. and in middle of my career i realized that half of my time was spent listening and playing music, so i decided to take a step forward and study this discilpine more seriously, so i also went to study musical performance with...
